The Jovid Foundation's primary interest is in supporting District of Columbia nonprofit organizations that help District residents in or at risk of long-term poverty to become more self-sufficient.

Because the Foundation is small and seeks to make a positive difference, it is particularly interested in funding neighborhood-based efforts that provide programs and services to low-income DC adults that help them obtain and retain employment. In addition, a small number of grants may be made from a discretionary fund.

The Foundation makes grants only to organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation does not make grants to individuals or for projects that are sectarian in nature.

Transform (Center for Social Leadership) is an interactive and experiential program available for current and future nonprofit leaders to discuss crucial skills areas with a diverse group of nonprofit leaders who will share their successes, challenges and insights into how to run an effective nonprofit organization.

With more than 600 nonprofit clients nationwide, Venable has the largest concentration of attorneys in the country providing counseling and advocacy for charities, trade associations, professional societies, foundations, advocacy groups, private schools, colleges and universities, hospitals, and other types of nonprofit organizations.

Our clients—ranging from some of the nation’s largest philanthropic charities to a “who’s who” of trade and professional associations—call on us for assistance in matters of general nonprofit law and in matters unique to their industries, professions, causes or issues.

VPP makes the future brighter for youth living in the National Capital Region by tackling the largest barriers to their success and forging partnerships that bring the expertise, passion and reach necessary to achieve life-changing results.

Volunteer Fairfax is a regional leader in developing and delivering creative solutions to community needs through volunteerism. In addition to providing volunteer resources, they increase the capacity of the nonprofit sector through volunteer management training, resource and information sharing and emergency response volunteer coordination.

The Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers promotes and supports effective, strategic, and efficient charitable investment in the Greater Washington region. We partner with governments and nonprofits, build strong relationships between grantmakers and grantseekers, and serve as an advocate and voice for philanthropy.
